How SportPredictions works
SportPredictions is a free sports-prediction game you play with friends. You predict the score of each match, earn points based on how close you were to the real result, and compete for the top of your group's leaderboard. No money is wagered — the only thing at stake is bragging rights.
If you've ever run an office pool or prediction league on paper or a spreadsheet, this is the modern, automatic version: instead of tracking everyone's picks by hand, the platform records every prediction, scores the points as soon as matches end, and keeps the leaderboard updated in real time.
1. Create a group or join one
Everything revolves around groups. A group is your private league of friends, coworkers or family. There are two ways to start:
- Create a group: pick a name, choose the tournament you'll compete on (for example, the 2026 World Cup) and get a code to invite your friends.
- Join a group: if someone already created one, they share the code or invite link and you're in with one click.
You can belong to several groups at once, and your predictions count independently in each one.
2. Predict the scores
For each match in the tournament you enter the score you think it will end in — for example, 2–1. You don't have to predict every match, but the more you predict, the more chances you have to score points.
⏱️ Predictions lock when the match kicks off. From the opening whistle you can no longer create or change your prediction for that match. This keeps everyone on a level playing field.
3. Earn points automatically
When a match ends, the platform compares your prediction with the real result and awards points. There are two levels of accuracy:
- Exact score: you nailed the result exactly (you predicted 2–1 and it finished 2–1). This is worth the most points.
- Correct result: you got the winner right (or the draw) but not the exact score (you predicted 2–1 and it finished 3–1). Fewer points, but still points.
Matches in later rounds (round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-final, final) are worth more points, because they're harder to call and more decisive. You can see the full points table in the rules.
4. Predict the champion and runner-up
Beyond individual matches, many tournaments let you make a global prediction: who will be champion and who will be runner-up. This prediction is worth valuable bonus points and closes on a deadline (usually at the start of the tournament or a phase). Because it's worth so much, it can decide who wins your group.
5. Climb your group's leaderboard
Each group has its own leaderboard sorted by points. There you see where you stand against your friends, how many exact scores each person has, and how many results they got right. When a live match ends, the leaderboard updates by itself.
You can also open any member's profile and see their predictions once the match has started (never before, so nobody can copy).
Which tournaments can I play?
SportPredictions is built for the big football tournaments. You can currently compete in events such as the 2026 World Cup, the Copa Libertadores, the Liga BetPlay and others as they're enabled. Each group chooses the tournament it wants to compete on.
Is it free? Is money wagered?
It's 100% free and no real money is wagered. SportPredictions is a game of skill and fun among friends: it is not a betting site and we don't handle users' money. The only thing you win is the right to brag about being your group's best forecaster.
