Group table

In the group stage, each team plays the others in its group. Wins are worth 3 points, draws 1 and losses 0; the top two of each group advance to the knockout rounds. The columns show MP (matches played), W (won), D (drawn), L (lost), GD (goal difference) and Pts (points).

When teams are level on points, the order is decided first by goal difference and then by goals scored; depending on the tournament's rules, head-to-head results between the tied teams can also matter. That's why a heavy win or a late goal can reshuffle an entire group on the final matchday.
